Associate Professor Suellen Murray

Suellen Murray is the Deputy Dean of Research and Innovation.

Suellen’s areas of research expertise include the history of domestic violence services and social policy concerning domestic violence, which were the topics of her book, More than Refuge: Changing Responses to Domestic Violence (UWA Press, 2002).

She has also researched the life histories of people who grew up in care and has co-authored the book, After the Orphanage: Life Beyond the Children’s Home (UNSW Press, 2009).

Her most recent books are Supporting Adult Care-leavers: International Good Practice, (Policy Press, 2015), the co-authored Half a Citizen: Life on Welfare in Australia (Allen & Unwin, 2011), which won the 2011 Australian Human Rights Award for Non-fiction Literature, and Domestic Violence: Australian Public Policy (Australian Scholarly Publishing, 2011).
